Betlem Pallardó Azorín holds a degree in Hispanic Studies and a Master’s in Advanced Hispanic Studies, both from Universitat de València. She is currently undertaking her PhD as a predoctoral researcher at the Department of Spanish Philology at the Universitat de València, supported by the FPU (Formación del Profesorado Universitario) grant within the PhD Programme in Advanced Hispanic Studies under the direction of Jaume Peris Blanes and Claudia Alonso Recarte. She is also a member of the editorial team of the academic journal Kamchatka. Revista de análisis cultural.

Her research interests are centred on the cultural representation of sites of violence towards other-than-human animals and on the relation between said spaces and other sites of violence towards human beings. In her most recent work, she focuses on animal exhibition in zoos and its cultural portrayals.
