She studied Fine Arts and Architecture, and became Doctor of Philosophy in 2022 with her thesis "A New Philosophy in Education: Animal Empathy.” She left behind her teaching job of more than 13 years at the Escuela Superior de Arte de Asturias (ESAPA) and at the Escuela de Arte de Oviedo as well as her career as an artist to dedicate herself to researching on education and animal empathy. In 2017 she obtained a position as a lecturer at the University of Oviedo in the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education and since then she has created and directs final degree dissertations on art and empathy towards animals. She also created at the University of Oviedo a course for PUMUO (University Program for Seniors at the University of Oviedo) titled "Reformulating Our Society through Environmental and Animal Empathy". Her research interest is based on education as a means to achieve empathy towards other living beings, especially non-human animals, and how art can help achieve such objectives.
