Laura Miñano Mañero
Laura Miñano Mañero holds a PhD in Language, Literature and Culture, and its Applications from the University of Valencia, Spain, where she is Assistant Professor in the Department of English and German Philology. Her research focuses on language contact, translation and interpretation in extreme contexts, postmemory and the intergenerational transmission of trauma, and Holocaust and gender studies. Her current research also explores human–animal and human–nonhuman relations in Holocaust histories and testimonies, with particular attention to animal representations and encounters, ecological experiences, and women’s relationships with nonhuman life during the Holocaust. Her recent work examines the experiences of women who hid in forests during the Second World War, focusing on the material and ecological dimensions of survival and on the ways their testimonies represent encounters and entanglements with animals, plants, landscapes, and other nonhuman presences.
