Lorena Laprebende is a lawyer, researcher, and lecturer at Universidad Empresarial Siglo 21, where she leads the research project "Subjects of Law: The Impact of New Perspectives in the Management of Canine Populations in Urban Sectors of Argentina". Her interest in animal rights has led her to delve into the study of animal law, publishing articles in international journals, such as the Revista Latino-Americana de Direitos Da Natureza E Dos Animais, and participating in the book La gestión de los animales en el context de la catástrofe (The Management of Animals in the Context of Catastrophe"). She is a doctoral candidate in Civil Law at the University of Buenos Aires and a graduate in fire management and climate change from UNSAM. She is also the director of the Institute of Animal Law of the San Martín Lawyers Association and a member of the Network of Veterinarians in Catastrophes.
Xavier Crespo has had a long career as a film and television producer. His work, both in documentary and fiction genres, has been selected for some of the most representative festivals of auteur cinema, such as Seminci in Valladolid, the San Sebastián Film Festival, the Venice Film Showcase (Italy), the Montreal World Film Festival (Canada), the Mediterranean Film Showcase (Spain), DOCS DF (Mexico), and the Monterrey Film Festival (Mexico), among many others.
In 1992, he founded Dacsa Produccions, an independent production company born with the desire to be respectful of audiences and committed to cinema. Built around a team of highly experienced professionals, it develops projects in all areas of audiovisual production. His first feature film, A Tabarka (1996), was followed by over 40 audiovisual works, including fiction and documentary films, short films, TV movies, music videos, and commercials.
Among these productions, the most notable fiction films include Faltas Leves (Manuel Valls, Jaume Bayarri, 2006), Entre Esquelas (Adán Martín, 2009), winner of the Biznaga de Plata at the 12th Málaga Film Festival's ZonaZine Section, Orson West (Fran Ruvira, 2011), winner of the ‘Ópera Prima’ Award from the Catalan Directors Association, and Mil coses que faria per tu (Dídac Cervera, 2017), among others.
Notable documentaries include Iberia (Carlos Saura, 2005), winner of the Goya Award for Best Cinematography, La sombra del Iceberg (Hugo Doménech, Raúl M. Riebenbauer, 2007), Cómicos (Ana Pérez, Marta Arribas, 2009), nominated for the Goya Award for Best Documentary, Espías en la arena: Objetivo España (Francesc Betriu, 2017), Cabanyal any zero (Frédérique Pressmann, 2018), Camagroga (Alfonso Amador, 2020), selected for festivals like Sheffield Doc Fest, Shanghai Film Fest, DOKLeipzig, DocsLisboa, and L’Alternativa, and Persona [no] humana (Álex Cuellar, Rafa G. Sánchez, 2022).
Among his most recent works are the feature films Quan no acaba la nit (Óscar Montón, 2022), Llobàs (Pau Calpe, 2023), and Valenciana (Jordi Núñez, 2023), winner of the Audience Award at Cinema Jove 2024, released in 2024, and Tanit (Pep Garrido), currently in postproduction. Additionally, he has been the production manager for the Á Punt series Després de tu by Albena Produccions.
